Title: Individual

Blog Entry: What is it to be an individual? This is a question i often ponder as i lay awake at night. When i was in elementary school i painted my fingernails black and hair blue.No one else in my school did it.I really felt like an original like an individual, but i also felt very lonely. How i hated the other children as they judged me for not having the latest shoes or for not getting into the latest fad.Imagine my surprise when i got to middle school and i found other kids just like me.I felt great relief in the fact i finally found friends who might understand my hatred of conformity and herd mentality.I slowly came to realize that my new friends were conformists as well.Conformists by there own standards but still conformists.I remembered how they ridiculed me for writing a poem that wasnt morbid or depressing, but one that recited my love for a certain girl. They laughed and said "thats not goth".Thats when i realized to be an individual is to be alone. And if no one understands you,the least you can expect is friends that dont judge you and just accept you the way you are.True individuality does not come from a store, the clothes you wear or the music you listen to.Its something your born with its a deformity of the mind.An individual does not allow him/herself to be restrained by the social restraints inflicted upon us by our parents or friends or governments.Individuality is anarchy. Damn i need some sleep.
