The term 'goth' is subject to a lot of controversy, as it's a rather subjective topic.
I'm simply starting this thread to gather individuals personal definition of 'goth', and what it means to them.

As you may know, Goth first of everything was Art.
Then, was a subculture, that start with some 'ideals' from its members.
Now... sadly in some part, it's just fashion... but not completaly sad, cause, it's way to expres it... you know, the decandence, one past, a different future... that kind of things.
But as i sayd always... Goth is what do you thing Goth is.
You don't need explanations for your personal meanings

Goth or Gothic in my eyes...is a way of expression and unconvential beauty. A beauty as they say of the darker things in life. It's also a genre of music and art form...so thats all I must say.

goth is something you grow into, and not because your life was pretty and neat-shaped. it's the way of life, the scars you have acquired, the darkness you must face, the death you don't deny, the beauty you seek in horror, the salvation you seek in pain, the romance you find in the dark of full moon night, the music you hear in the howls of wolves, the joke that sends chills through the skin of others, the ideology, the music , the literature, the you.

most people im exposed to think....if you wear black your a goth. which is kind of bs cause i wear black a lot but dont really consider myself goth.
