The following are reviews from the SCUMFEAST ZINE SITE. This is gonna be ugly.
BAD RELIGION - New Maps of Hell CD
Listening to this CD is like spending time in Hell. This band had one and only one release in the 80s that was fantastic, their debut LP, and after that they went to Hell on their own way. A decade ago this formula was so boring, the band started going mainstream since the Punk Scene was so fucking bored with them too. That was when they signed with Atlantic Records and people called them "sell-outs". Hey I never gave a flying fuck about that move. Let a major deal with their boring crap and play it on elevators.
There's 16 tracks on this dink and all of them are predictably horrible and boring as fuck. But hey, the band has added keyboards to their mix. Are they on this year's WARPED TOUR? Fuck BAD RELIGION!!!!!

EPSILONS - Killed 'Em Deader "N A Six Card Poker Hand CD
This is total fucked up Garage Punk in the vein of the MUMMIES and the COUNTBACKWARDS. This thing sounds like a party that I'd like to be at, gone out of control. Hey it ain't at my house so fuck it! The EPSILONS play tummy bending, lo-fi madness Punk which is guarrenteed to get your sorry ass on the dance floor. These are fitting sounds for your next stag party or whatever rauch you're into. They have this primative sound and style that reminds me of the Garage Punk Revival of the 1990's. No wanna-be the SONICS thing going on and I love every fuckin minute of it. The EPSILONS might be provacateurs of the past but are modern day maniacs who you should be checking out.

GALLOWS - Orchestra of Wolves CD
Here's an English band trying very hard to be a modern day "In My Head" era BLACK FLAG. Which is kinda funny since I've heard more than my share of American bands trying to sound like 1980s English Hardcore/Oi. Whatever that mindset may be, it's funny to get a promo with quotes on it from KERRANG & NME weeks prior to the band's release. Also they're totally booked on this summer's WARPED TOUR. After six songs of this band and their tattooed screaming idiot of a vocalist, I want to slap him silly. This ain't fuckin homage at all. It's a pure waste of my goddam time.

This waste of a recording would of been better if a woman was singing. Instead it just sounds like a woman, a ball-less effort at it's best.

THE AGGROLITES - Reggae Hit L.A. CD
This release sucks! White bred Californians playing reggae and coming to a House of Blues near you. I remember one time JAMES AT 15 called a local college radio station and asked the DJ to play some Punk Rock. The DJ told him he was about to play some ska. which is just as bad as reggae and has nothing to do with Punk. So JAMES AT 15 laid into the DJ, scorn and ridicule was the result. Which is what I give to this release. Oh but that doesn't matter since in a few years the band members will be off attending UCLA or USC.

The FUCKING WRATH - Season of Evil CD
Here we have a band that at first fooled me into thinking they were just another stoner rock act of rehash. But after a few cuts this band really does mix BLACK SABBATH "Masters of Reality" with "Kings of Punk" era POISON IDEA Punk Fuckin Rock / Hardcore. They're a three piece from Calif. who sound as if this might be the last thing recorded on this planet. Real guy vocals that are a cry from the wilderness of music today. We should be all tired of the phoney fag boys of modern day music and this CD pushes that idea one hundred paces forward. Better yet, modern Punk/Hardcore needs a fix to it also. And except for the beginning and ending of this dink, the middle parts are faster than a cheetah late for supper. Now I know in my non-drunken episodes of living that this has been done before. Well so fuckin what? It's 2007 and we music lovers of the extreme need a band like this to kick our asses back into reality, and these three guys have done it for me.

SOCIETY'S PARASITES - Self Titled CD (?)
I read a review about this band from some clown who called this "old school". I think his name was Brickface or something pathetic like that. Anyway this is not "old school" Punk, bozo, unless old to you means 1988 and I'm betting it does. The term "old School" only shows that you're a ignorant hack. You know those holes on the sides of your head are not air vents. They're ears so use em. This here is simply paint by the numbers 80s hardcore. Kinda like some bands who came out of the late 80s NYC Hardcore scene, the non-metalish, non-hippie punk stuff that skinheads would start fights to at shows. You've even got four hispanic looking toughs on the back cover doing a SICK OF IT ALL style pose (Posuers?). Oh yeah and they're angry. Why, who the fuck knows since they're probably going on the Warpy Tour. Supposedly they've been around since 1997 and put out an EP in 2004. Whoopdy do, if it sounded like this then I can see why this would appeal to people 25 years of age and younger. "Oh I'm angry, I'm so angry." Stop crying ya faggot! There's a song on here called "Wishing Armageddon", you better wish that ICE doesn't show up to one of your shows. Because then they'll ship your olive skinned ass back to the other side of the border. Where you screw goats under the Mayan moon.

STRUNGOUT - Blackhawks over Los Angeles CD
This can't be the same band that I have a 7"er from? Now I really feel sorry for those WARPED TOUR attendees who listen to this crap and think that this is Punk Rock. Will somebody on here please tell me how much it costs to be a domesticated pig in this herd of loserdom? Weak crap for people with short attention spans is what is going on here. I'm ashamed to even be associated with Punk Rock aslong as this shit is considered as such.

BLACK LIPS - Los Valientes Del Mundo Nuevo CD
Recorded live at a dancehall in Tijuana, Mexico in front of 200 screaming Punks, drunken locals, pimps, prostitutes, drug dealers and a freaking Mariachi band. Their label VICE Records threw a party with free beer and booze and the band played to all of the ensuing chaos. While I’m not a big fan of live releases simply because they’re usually remastered in a recording studio somewhere later and cleaned up to perfection. This is a true live release because you hear it all including bottles being smashed, crazy drunk Mexicans screaming at the band in Spanish, a trumpet player from the previously mentioned Mariachi band tooting his horn for some stupid reason. Yeah this is Punk Rock here people in pure chaotic form. I’ll bet someone was bleeding after this show. COLE ALEXANDER (vocals/guitar) even says it into the mic, “This is gonna be the best live record of all time”. He just might be right on that one. JOHN REIS from the HOT SNAKES and ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT was there recording this. The sound is perfect, as if you were right there in the audience covered in beer, bleeding, and with some crazed drunken Mexican screaming behind you. The BLACK LIPS come off sounding like some obscure 60’s Garage Punk band off of a PEBBLES compilation high on pills and booze. This CD even sounds better than their studio releases.

CAREER SOLDIERS - Loss of Words CD
Post Anarcho-Punk has always struck me as a dishonest, self-deceived variety of political posturing. Anarchy itself is an interminable quasi-religious catharsis for the easily influenced. Punk was never about Politics or Religion, so much as a return to musical basics. So when I listen to this San Diego band’s modern day rhyming guttersnipe anthems, I’m thinking what a waste of a good sounding, musically talented band. When a band like this tells me in their lyrics to “Think for myself”, I say sure. I think you are wrong. And do I actually believe they will take my freedom of choice seriously? I don’t think so!
On the opening cut, “This Generation”, the song is about the cowardice of this present younger generation and how they are taught not to question anything. I disagree completely since there are many brave young people today and they are the ones who sacrifice in order to protect others. Unfortunately some have made the ultimate sacrifice in order to give this band the right to play their music. There’s a reason why Punk started in the USA and not in socialist/fascist countries.
In the title song the band claims “war will never bring peace”. What were these guys doing in their High School History classes, picking their noses? Hey kids, you ever heard of World War One or Two, the Revolutionary War, the War Between the States? In the same song the band claims there’s no dissent. I watch TV, read various newspapers and magazines, I’m reading things on the internet, and I listen to Talk Radio everyday. Don’t tell me there’s no dissent in this country because you are being intellectually dishonest.
Then there’s the obligatory “question everything”, which is fine by me, I agree with you. But anyone who questions just to give creedence to their questioning or arguments, and not to find answers, is a fool.
Finally the highlight of this CD is in the songs, “Broken Record” and “Dropping Out”. It’s here that the singer makes references to ending it all. To me that’s a reference to suicidal tendencies. And if that’s the case than this should be the band’s last release, at least the last one with this lead singer. But if it turns out to not be the case, then the CAREER SOLDIERS are just another bunch of political posturing phonies. Like I always say, if you can’t lead by example then get the fuck out of my way.

The HORRORS - Strange House CD
Well according to the AIP and the NME also every other SOB whose had their head up their ass for years. These guys hold it let me take another look at the CD. Ok I cannot tell if there are actual women in this band. The sadist part of CDs is their small print for older eyes. But according to a bunch of losers, the HORRORS are one of the 100 most important bands of 2007. Well thanks to all you college radio losers who have the ability to tell us, the listening and discerning public what is cool. I wouldn’t of known since for years I’ve had my jack-booted foot on the face of alternative music. The dirty little secret is that the kneepad wearing cocksuckers at AIP and NME are always told what to like or dislike from their bosses at various record labels.
Despite what the pussies have to say, I really like the HORRORS on their own merits. Imagine a more Punk BAUHAUS with some heavy 60’s Garage Punk Hammond organ thrown into it all or early MURDER CITY DEVILS. The cover photo has a NY DOLLS look to it, which is why I can’t find the girl in this photo. All right she’s second from the left? But I’m digging this CD since it brings back a Punk Fuckin Rock feel to a Goth edge. The singer is a freakin lunatic by the end of the CD. I’m wondering if drugs were involved in the recording. If they were then great, and this band will be on my daily play list for quite a long time. There’s a ghastly streak of violence in a black wig, which I’m really liking by this band. They even open this CD with a cover "Jack the Ripper", I'll give them balls for that decision. This is definitely Punk in the way that TSOL’s “Beneath the Shadows” was a Punk classic. Now if all of you kids into MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE would grow up and check out the HORRORS, things would be alright.

ONLY CRIME - Virulence CD
Here’s the second release by this so-called Calif. Punk super group featuring members from GOOD RIDDANCE, BAIN, and the DESCENDENTS. Now I see that BILL STEVENSON plays drums for these guys and he used to play with BLACK FLAG and ALL. I wonder why those bands were not mentioned? It’s because those two bands combined are what ONLY CRIME is influenced by. It’s as if they crashed their old tour vans into each other and here’s the result, albeit this is an ugly type of accident. From the very beginning of this CD on the song “Take Me”, it’s got that rumbling bass line and added drum pounding like latter day BLACK FLAG. The guitars and vocals crash in like bottles being smashed. Everything sounds cool for about thirty seconds as the singer does his best ROLLINS imitation until the chorus comes and we have that girly man “emo” vocal. The same theme is repeated on the second cut “Everything For You”, hell it’s repeated throughout this whole CD. By the fifth song I’m ready to slap a Warped Tour “Emo Loser” for having the gall of wearing a $25 BLACK FLAG T-shirt. And as we close in on the three-quarter mark of this fucking dink we delve into metal thievery. I hated every band on this label back in the late 90s. That stuff was like a fucking placebo to the real thing. NOFX really sucked all through the 90s also. I saw NOFX play inside of a garage in Carrboro, NC. I’m pretty sure this was in 1987 because I saw FANG play there too. They were a three-piece and playing songs off of their 7”er “Sorry if we’re on Mystic”. I think the name of that place was called the Turning Point, but it was still a huge garage. The people running it took donations from the crowd. NOFX were good then but after that I hated them. But getting back to this CD, its bands like this that have ruined Punk Rock. It’s too much formula driven song structures and no more experimentation. Listening to this is like trying to shave with a dull razor.

GORE GORE GIRLS - Get the Gore CD
This is their best release by far and has the ladies rocking in a way that reminds me more of the PAYBACKS instead of the PANDORAS. It’s still all girls in the garage punk fuckin rock. These she-babes make ELENA BOBBIT look like a manicurist. There’s fourteen no love lost cuts of blunt garage punk without the overbearing hype. We’ll leave that to listeners like me.

KAISER CHIEFS - Yours Truly, Angry Mob CD
This was recommended to me from a friend. According to him, it’s been getting plenty of airplay on LITTLE STEVEN’S UNDERGROUND RADIO. This is the band’s sophomore release, their first one came out in 2004. That one, “Employment” was a two million selling disc of Indie Rock ethereal dance crap. Well once I dropped this into the stereo I immediately recognized their hit “Ruby”. It’s an annoying Brit-Pop song that’s also getting airplay on the college radio loser station that someone at work likes to listen to during the daytime hours. After an hour of that I want to wretch. Surviving the playing of hearing that song again, the CD gets better. The song “ The Angry Mob” is a decent enough cut that reminds me of the solo work RAY DAVIS once done.
“Heat Dies Down” sounds like something NEW ORDER could have made. “Highroyds” is the best cut on this disc. It has that bass heavy rhythm that the JAM made as a staple to their sound. It’s just catchy like the flu. But the rest of this CD is a mix of BLUR and OASIS type crap, the soundtrack for Chapel Hill shut ins.

DIMMU BORGIR - In Sorte Diaboli CD
Now that DIMMU BORGIR is on Nuclear Blast Records, all hell has broken loose in the Black Metal underground scene. You now have some Black Metal purists calling them sellouts. Personally I thought better of metalheads and that they would not sink to the level of adolescent behavior. That's what happens in other music scenes, which always ends in self-segregation between those with common sense and those who are apathetic. Be that as it may, I'm not an expert on selling out. But I do know a few things about jealousy of someone else's success, especially when it comes to the music scene. I don't care if DIMMU BORGIR is considered Norway's premiere commercially successful Black Metal band. It's all about the music and attitude. So when it comes to this CD, the music is classical Black Metal and the band's attitude is down right evil.
"In Sorte Diaboli" is like a concept album about the epic saga of the dark side at war with everything that's good. SHAGRATH's vocals and singing style come off as a sermon from the pulpit of evil. There's enough Black Metal ingredients in the lyrics to melt the corpse paint off of the faces of any naysayer. And if you still wanna call DIMMU BORGIR sellouts? Well then you might wanna ask why HELLHAMMER, of MAYHEM fame, about that since he's playing drums on this masterpiece of darkness and despair.
From the symphonic opening of "The Serpentine Offering", you can imagine this six-piece standing in some snowbound wasteland. The beginning of the tale from long ago in which SHAGRATH, using his guttural vocal shrieks, interprets while the rest of the band lays down a multi-layered wall of sound. Guitarists GALDER and SILENOZ provide plenty of thrashing riffiage as the band moves onto "The Chosen Legacy" and "The Conspiracy Unfolds", as well as throughout the whole release. HELLHAMMER is of course a maniac on drums, as if you would consider him anything less.
"In Sorte Diaboli" is like an opera and I can envision DIMMU BORGIR playing this from beginning to end live. There's even a keyboard interlude "The Fallen Arises" midway through for people to catch their breath and contemplate the final demise. But that respite is only short lived as the band tears into "The Heritic Hammer", a thoroughly brutal cut which will pummel the heads of those weakest among us. And the torment continues to the very end, this is not one of those "I'll play a few songs then go about my day" type of listens. "In Sorte Diaboli" must be played from beginning to end in one sitting to be appreciated. I prepared dinner during my first listen and no I didn't burn anything.
Nuclear Blast
FINNTROLL - Ur Jordens Djup CD
Traditional Finnish folk music combined with Black Metal and sung in the Finnish language, is this a joke? Actually there's some decent dark side instrumentation along with gothic style keyboards plus the vocals are painful shrieks from Hell. But with all that folk music stuff thrown in, it's hard for me to get into this. I don't know whether to raise my fist in the air or find a broad who smells like pickled herring and ask her for a dance to some Finnish jig. After listening to this 11 track dink 5 times in a row, the stuff grows on ya like forest moss. For example the song "Slaybroder" is six plus minutes of symphonic Black Metal filth at it's best. Other songs like "Sang" and "Nedgang" are merciless interludes into the dark side, plus you can dance around your room like a folksy Finnish nutbag.
Century Media
MAYHEM - Ordo Ad Chao CD
I kinda was expecting greatness here since Attila Csihar is back on vocals, well actually he screams, moans, whispers, and groans a lot. But the fact is that there will never be another "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" LP ever again. Now with that comparison is out of the way, taken on it's own merits "Ordo Ad Chao" is a decent enough release for MAYHEM fans like myself. Unfortunately you have to sit through three plus minutes of the plodding opener "A Wise Birthgiver". The true evil doesn't get started until the second track, "Wall of Water", from there on it's hit and miss. "Illuminate Eliminate" and "Deconsecrate" are definitely the bast tracks out of all eight. It's still has the old school black metal sound we've come to worship.
Season of Mist Records
PIG DESTROYER - Phantom Limb CD
This is somewhat disturbing to me. I love intense music but this release pushes the limits. After the first listen I'm plagued with horrible visions of being strapped down in a dentist's chair. And the bastard is using the dental drill to tattoo my face. Which reminds me I'd better cancel next week's appointment. Ah but my visions are nothing compared to the one's of J. R. HAYES, lyricist and vocalist of PIG DESTROYER. On this latest release, HAYES shares his journal notes by way of screaming over a grindcore/thrash template of sound and fury. With words and music combined, it paints a picture darker and far more sinister than the cover art which adorns this CD. One should worry if HAYES owns firearms. Listening to this is akin to going postal. There's songs referencing suicide, serial killing, the DC snipers, etc. This is definitely the most nihilistic release I've listened to this summer.
Relapse Records
SCARVE - The Undercurrent CD
French Death Metal, go figure? Normally whenever I think of the French, I envision the white flag of surrender but not on this release. Screw the fromage, this is pretty good Death Metal in a vein that would make their northern neighbors a little jealous. Maybe the French government should blast this CD next time those Islam-Nazis, who live in the Paris slums, get out of line. Hey if they still don't like it, march in there with fixed bayonets or if that fails, shoot em!
"The Undercurrent" is a fast blast of only 9 tracks, 8 if you've got the promo like me, it figures since it's from those obnoxious French. But hey there's more brutal pummeling on this dink than the French Army has done in two hundred years. There's some cool dueling vocals on here that's not in that Emo crap vein. Plus musically this band's sound is harsh enough to turn back any assaulting army.
UPDATE: Oct.11th 2007
Actually I did get crap for giving the DIMMU BORGIR CD a good review, but not in the blog comments section of SCUMFEAST METAL. It was all done in my messages. "So you like Dimmu" it would always start and somewhere within they'd mention Cradle of Filth also.
Personally I think all these people who hate (place band name here) have downloaded their stuff, illegally of course.
From SCUMFEAST METAL POSTED before that last one.
BIRDS OF PREY - Weight of the Wound CD
Kind of a supergroup/side project here with members of such noteworthy acts like AVAIL, ALABAMA THUNDER PUSSY, LAST VAN ZANT, BARONESS, etc. High intensity noise damage going on here. This CD should have a warning label informing listeners to wear head, ear, and eye protection while listening. Although I doubt it will help since musically this is the equivilant of being bludgeoned to death by a pipe wielding maniac. Plus growling vocals that are tough to understand therefore reading the lyrics is mandatory, which makes me wonder if this is intentional. For those of you of weak minds, especially liberal politically correct types, I'd say stay far away. Your sixth grade mentality would not comprehend all of which is going on here.

CANCER BATS - Birthing the Giant CD
Please don't get me wrong. I really have a fondness for newer bands who are influenced by past greats. As long as they add something of themselves to give it a modern freshness. Unfortunately there are few bands that can achieve this. The rest act like Japanese fishing trawlers tossing out huge nets, then hawling them back in to see what they caught and could use. Case in point here, the CANCER BATS are a paint by the numbers metalcore act. This CD is the result of overdosing on PANTERA and FEAR FACTORY.

HELLYEAH - Self Titled CD
After the first listen I was ready to bust this fucker in the kneecaps, knocking it down in order for it to beg for mercy. Most people know I have known. But after a few more listens this CD has grown on me. It's a supergroup of Metal stalwarts from current and former members of MUDVAYNE, NOTHINGFACE, and DANZIG, all being led by former PANTERA drummer Vinnie Paul. And yes there's plenty on here that you would call "typical sounding" of the genre, but it's all done in a fairly brutal way. Definately for fans of some of the more popular modern metals bands, but not totally metal core. Which is why I've gotta give it the horned hand of approval.

3 INCHES OF BLOOD - Fire up the Blades CD
If you ever had visions of KING DIAMOND fronting a more thrashed out version of IRON MAIDEN, then here you go. This here is fifty-one plus minutes, done by the playbook, of 1980's Metal homage. The good stuff and not that power ballad crap that crept in over the airwaves to please concert sluts and MTV type video producers. This Canadian band brings back the style of Metal that's albeit lost to a generation of "nu metal fans".
Now while some might call this rehash from the past, I say so fuckin what! I'm sick and fucking tired of reading a review by some kid who thinks their taste in Metal is more "discerning" than all others. Then they just go ahead and slag good music like this or other types (Black & Death Metal). I'd like to slap that "Taste" right out of their smug faces, you're a bunch of faceless pussies. Your only claim to knowing anything about Metal is that your mothers once sucked everyone off backstage at a RATT concert in the 1980s. Who's your real daddy?
As far as this CD goes, I've been blasting it at least once a week since it's release. Metal fans of old, rise up and take your places up front. And if you've got children, bring them along for a wild one. This release is for fans of METAL! Let all those so-called "experts" sit at home and take a fucking placebo.

BERGRAVEN - Dodsvisioner CD
This is from a one man band leader PAR GUSTAFSSON, who's supplied us all with a release that literally means "visions of death". This to me is like BURZUM on acid, mushrooms would be too fuckin happy. Totally ambient rock that's cool for house cleaning, working on the dreaded bathroom, or sacrificing a goat. The new Black Metal kids/snobs/elitists will hate this since it will remind them of their job at McDonalds. And let's not forget that the last BERGRAVEN release was more of an older school Black Metal style. Actually I love this because it inspires me to be a total asshole/prince of darkness, which is something that comes so easily, I think I was born with it. On a better note I feel that this should be played at work for the girls who work the bar. They should listen to this and aquire sublimital messages for the day. For example, when people walk in, "Hi how are you doing?" (I hope you're staring at my tits because I could use the tips). Or how about, "Would you like mustard or mayonaise on that? (Hell our cook, WOLF, will fuck it up on purpose. He's probably hungover anyway and it's 8 PM. That's because he spends his late nights drinking and writing record reviews on his Blog. LAETHORA - March of the Parasite CD
Here are my latest fave bunch of pain mongers from Sweden with NIKLAS SUNDIN from DARK TRANQUILITY and JOAKIM ROSEN of THE PROVENANCE on guitars. With that type of frontal assault to your brain obviously this is gonna be one of the best Death Grind releases of the year. For a release that's flat out doomish and grim, I'm smiling every time I play it. "March of the Parasite" makes me happy, ok I'm a sadist. This is like a soundtrack to a hate factory with machine-like plodding and relentless torture. This is the type of release you take to your niece's or nephew's birthday party. By the time you get to "The Scum of us All" (My favorite track on here), the little kids will be tearing the party clown limb from limb. How would you like to see that on YouTube?

PELICAN - City of Echoes CD
Four piece instro-metal band from Chicago who I believe live in Calif. now. Hopefully not to be closer to the FUCKING CHAMPS. I do like this better than FC but not all of this is Metal. There's some dream-state ambiant style cuts on here destined for indie radio rock love. The quaint rock term for this is probably "Post Rock" but I seriously doubt PELICAN want to be pigeonholed into a catagory. Constant guitar theatrics this is not which is why I kinda think it's a decent listen. At times "City of Echoes" can be pure chaos. I put this in one night in the hopes I'd fall asleep to it, I didn't.

ION DISSONANCE- Minus the Herd CD
Canadian Hardcore/Metal that's so far over to the Tech side of things, that it wasn't until the third cut that I realized the first song was over. ION DISSONANCE might be brilliant in their attack but I'd rather get a drunk driving test from a state trooper. At least my brain functions better under the load. If you are easily stressed out then I'd stay away. As for me, if I ever catch this band live. I'll have quite a few Pabst Blue Ribbons in me to deaden the pain.

PARADISE LOST - In Requiem CD
This UK band practically invented Gothic Metal with their epic release "Gothic" quite a few years ago. Ever since they've tried to recreate greatness to no avail. For all of you "troo" believers out there, this is as close as it gets, so far that is. "Ash & Debris" is a fantastic cut until it gets all melodic. "The Enemy" brings back times when PARADISE LOST was the missing link between Metal and Goth, yeah like ten fuckin years ago. The title cut could be a lost METALLICA cut before they went gay and started seeing shrinks, or what I like to call "MUSTAINE's REVENGE". Even though the Metal Scene can be so unforgiving when it comes to experimentation or even branching out from the pattern. PARADISE LOST have returned with a winner of a release. And no I am not on their payroll.

VOMITORY - Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize CD
So where do we start with this Swedish death Metal phenominon? Greatest release title of the year, yeah I'll go for that one. Musically it boasts an intense savagetry that would make the likes of DEICIDE cringe in fear. We are talking about a total hatemosphere here people. The kind of music that influences you to kill. Hey I've got the shotgun loaded and sitting here by my desk, so I'm fucking ready. Let's go out and kill some drug selling Canadians who listen to rap music. Only people who work in restuarants will get that one. Sorry I don't have a military issue trench coat to wear. I sold my old one to some 16 year old kid from South Dakota, whose into Black Metal, on E-Bay for $200.00. I told him there was real human and pig's blood on it. I did not tell him that all the blood came from a pig pickin. VOMITORY RULES! Who doesn't think so?

BLACK SABBATH - Self Titled LP
I was eleven in 1974 when I got my first copy of this LP. It was either this one or the Paranoid LP. I'm glad I decided on this one for many reasons. BLACK SABBATH's first LP created what we now all call Metal. Back then we called it Hard Rock, but to any layman it was this record that started the genre. Holding it in my hands for the first time it felt like electricity was emitting from it or maybe it was plain o'l evilness. Listening to it for the first time was absolutely incrediable. That opening with the rain and a church bell ringing from afar then this explosion of sound that bludgeons you. Yeah you know what I mean.
As the years past I would experience this LP in various ways. I used to have a strobe light a few years later and I would play this with the strobe light on. That was wild. Another time I was tripping and it was raining outside. So I put this on and blew my mind. Years later I would finally see SABBATH live in Philly, PA. The older people I was with thought openers VAN HALEN were better, but not me. I saw the original SABBATH and nothing could change that. Oh yeah, I never gave a shit about VAN HALEN.
Even now as I sit here writing and listening to the CD version. This release still sends chills down my spine. This is more than a mere recording. This is creation itself of something many people have taken for granted. Oh yeah and it was this LP that killed hippy-dom and I despise hippies.
