They do not learn this by learning, They do not work it by working, They do not reason it by using reason. To let understanding stop at what cannot be understood is a high attainment. Those who cannot do it will be destroyed on the lathe of heaven. ===================================== Beauty in a Wicked World. DATE: Mar 5, 2008 ===================================== Did you believe it, when they told you they discovered you? And that everything is free, as long as you do what they tell you to. You think it's true? Did you even listen, when they told you to change your name? And that nobody wants honesty when looking at a perfect frame. Play the game. Nothing could be further from the truth, And nothing is more powerful than beauty in a wicked world. .. AL ===================================== Now, I Am Become Death, Destroyer of Worlds DATE: Apr 1, 2008 ===================================== Now, I Am Become Death, Destroyer of Worlds Shiva was ‘he who takes back or takes away’. In appearance Shiva is fair, has four arms, four faces, and three eyes. The third eye, situated in the centre of his forehead, possesses a fiery glance from which all created things shrink. The destructive aspect, too, is clear in the title of Bhairava, ‘the joyous devourer’. In this guise Shiva haunts cemeteries and places of cremation, wearing serpents round his head and skulls for a necklace, attended by hosts of demons and imps. The name of Shiva is unknown in the ancient scriptures, but Rudra, ‘the Howler or Roarer, the Terrible One’, another name for this deity, and almost equally common, occurs frequently. Early in the evolution of the Hindu triad Shiva absorbed the Vedic Rudra, a personification of the implacable powers of destruction. ===================================== Visions of the Emerald Beyond DATE: May 22, 2008 ===================================== Visions of the Emerald Beyond No more am I the foolish customer Of a dry, sterile, intellectual breeze. I shall buy only The weaving visions of the emerald-Beyond. My heart-tapestry Shall capture the Himalayan Smiles Of my Pilot Supreme. In the burial of my sunken mind Is the revival of my climbing heart. In the burial of my deceased mind Is the festival of my all-embracing life. .. SC ===================================== LOVE, DEVOTION, SURRENDER DATE: May 22, 2008 ===================================== LOVE, DEVOTION, SURRENDER Love is sweet, Devotion is sweeter, Surrender is sweetest. Our mind thinks that this is absolutely true. Our heart feels that this is undeniably true. But unfortunately in our day-to-day life we are not able to practise it. That is to say, we do not know what love is. We do not know why we love something or someone. Finally, we do not know how to love. What is love? Love is self-expansion. Devotion is the intensity in love. Surrender is the fulfilment of love. To serve and never be tired is love. To learn and never be filled is devotion. To offer and never to end is surrender. Love is man's reality. Devotion is man's divinity. Surrender is man's immortality. Reality is all-pervading. Divinity is all-elevating. Immortality is all-fulfilling. Why do we love? We love because at every moment we are pinched with hunger and wish to be completely fulfilled. Traditional Western Views::::::::::::::::::::::::::: St. Augustine has blessed us with a profound message: "Love and then do what you like." St. Francis, has offered a unique truth to the world at large: "He who thinks that God's Love is inadequate is very greedy." George Bernard Shaw has warned us: "Beware of the man whose God is in the skies." Traditional Eastern Views::::::::::::::::::::::::::: India's greatest poet, Rabindranath Tagore, said, "He who loves finds the door open." Love is sweet. I have felt this truth in my mother's spontaneous love for me. Devotion is sweeter. I have discovered this truth in my mother's pure devotion towards the perfection of my life. Surrender is sweetest. I have realised this truth in my mother's constant surrender towards the fulfilment of my joy. Love is mighty. This truth I feel when I look at my father's face. Devotion is mightier. This truth I discover when I sit at my father's feet. Surrender is mightiest. This truth I realise when I live in the breath of my father's will. ..SC ===================================== .

Cabinet des Dr. Caligari - updated 1 September 2008 DATE: Mar 28, 2008, 01:50 AM / MOOD: accomplished
Last update 1 September 2008 - Do you share my madness ? The following chapters are for the madmen who made our world go round. ===================================== Cabinet des Dr. Caligari., Das Directed by Robert Wiene (1920) ===================================== John Cage (1912-1992) and Edgard Varese (1883-1965) John Cage - Prepared Piano John Cage (1912-1992), was the composer who put the "prepared piano" concept on the world map and who is often (though inaccurately) credited with inventing the instrument. His preparations are typically nuts, bolts and pieces of rubber to be lodged between and entwined around the strings. Some preparations make duller, more percussive sounds than usual, while others create sonorous bell-like tones. Additionally, the individual parts of a preparation like a nut loosely screwed onto a bolt will vibrate themselves, adding their own unique sound. By placing the preparation between two of the strings on a note which has three strings assigned to it, it is possible to change the timbre of that note by depressing the soft pedal on the piano. http://www.johncage.info/ http://www.newalbion.com/artists/cagej/ http://w3.rz-berlin.mpg.de/cmp/cage.html http://www.ubu.com/sound/cage.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSulycqZH-U http://www.lcdf.org/indeterminacy/ ===================================== Edgard Varese (1883-1965) - Father of Electronic Music http://www-camil.music.uiuc.edu/Projects/EAM/Varese.html http://personal-pages.lvc.edu/~snyder/em/varese.html http://www.karadar.com/Dictionary/varese.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9mg4KHqRPw http://www.karadar.com/Works/varese.html ===================================== Moondog, The Viking Of Sixth Avenue (Louis Hardin, 1916-1999) http://psychevanhetfolk.homestead.com/Moondog.html http://www.moondogs.us/ http://www.moondogscorner.de/ http://www.geocities.com/moondogmadness/ http://www.processmediainc.com/titles/ http://www.moondogedit.com/ http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/article.php?id=19337 http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=19343 http://www.furious.com/Perfect/moondog.html http://moondogrising.com/ http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/store/artist/album/0,,3541750,00.html http://processmediainc.com/titles/new_releases/moondog.php http://stewtheredshoe.blogspot.com/2006/11/moondog-viking-of-sixth-avenue.html ===================================== Ryan Larkin (dead one year) Visit: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsveHn5M35A www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Bv1AitXm2Q http://www.nfb.ca/collection/films/fiche/?id=51259 http://www.awn.com/mag/issue5.08/5.08pages/robinsonlarkin.php3 http://www.cartoonbrew.com/animators/ryan-larkin-1943-2007 ===================================== http://dennissiluk.tripod.com ===================================== “If Death Had Wings” If I saw death, and death had wings I know where I would go— Someplace between Heaven and Hell,-- In the form of an eternal soul: Where Peace and hunger was no more—; If only death had wings That is where I’d go—! Yes, that is where I’d go! If only dearth had wings! Wins, wings, wings— I’d put them on my soul. ===================================== “Gray Oblivion” In the sunlight Hope thrives best— In the fog, it Does not at all—. Self-interest and Self- preservation Is stronger than hope, And once it takes root, Hope opens its jaws. Thus, one can say, Hope and Reality Thrives on nothing, And nothing blossoms In the jaws of death. ===================================== Philip Tracey (still alive) http://www.designboom.com/portrait/tracey_hats.html http://www.philiptreacy.co.uk/ ===================================== Spring is in the air and all the birds are building their nest. I paint and sculpt women primarily; in their daily lives, in lives they might be afraid of, and in lives they wish they had. It is not possible to feel apathetic while standing next to passion. http://www.kathysart.com/ http://www.squidoo.com/kathycom http://kathysart.stumbleupon.com/ http://searchwarp.com/swa126456.htm http://kathyostman-magnusen.vox.com/ http://www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/o/ostmagart/ http://www.hometownartgallery.com/art/Ostman-Magnusen http://monkdogz.com/chelseagallery/inventory_magnusen.htm http://www.selfportrait.net/index.php?f=profile.php|u=1126 http://www.monkdogz.com/Monkdogz%20Artist%20Links/artistsO.htm http://chelseaartgalleries.com/artists/O/Kathy+Ostman-Magnusen.html http://www.monkdogz.com/chelseagallery/artistart/Magnusen/artist_magnusen.htm http://hawaiianartprintsphotosposters.blogspot.com/2007/12/about-kathy-ostman-magnusen.html http://www.blogcatalog.com/group/art/discuss/entry/interview-with-artistwriter-kathy-ostman-magnus en ===================================== What is an approriate boundry. . I Sing the Body Electric - updated 27 June 2008 DATE: Mar 28, 2008, 12:16 AM / MOOD: accomplished
Last update 27 June 2008 I Sing the Body Electric: ---------------------------------------------------------------- I Sing the Body Electric: I sing the body electric I celebrate the me yet to come I toast to my own reunion When I become one with the sun I sing the body electric I glory in the glow of rebirth Creating my own tomorrow When I shall embody the earth We are the emperors now And we are the czars And I'll serenade Venus I'll serenade Mars And I'll burn with the fire of ten million stars And in time, And in time, We will all be stars ---------------------------------------------------------------- I Sing the Body Electric: The armies of those I love engirth me, and I engirth them; They will not let me off till I go with them, respond to them, And discorrupt them, and charge them full with the charge of the Soul. Was it doubted that those who corrupt their own bodies conceal themselves; And if those who defile the living are as bad as they who defile the dead? And if the body does not do as much as the Soul? And if the body were not the Soul, what is the Soul? This is the female form; A divine nimbus exhales from it from head to foot; It attracts with fierce undeniable attraction! I am drawn by its breath as if I were no more than a helpless vapor—all falls aside but myself and it; The male is not less the soul, nor more—he too is in his place; He too is all qualities—he is action and power; The flush of the known universe is in him; Scorn becomes him well, and appetite and defiance become him well; The wildest largest passions, bliss that is utmost, sorrow that is utmost, become him well—pride is for him; The full-spread pride of man is calming and excellent to the soul; ---------------------------------------------------------------- I Sing the Body Electric: Unwilling to accept an electrical grandmother as a surrogate for her dead mother, until the grandmother demonstrates her own immortality. A fable? Most assuredly. But who's to say at some distant moment there might not be an assembly line producing a gentle product in the form of a grandmother whose stock in trade is love? Fable, sure—but who's to say? ” They make a fairly convincing pitch here. It doesn't seem possible though, to find a woman who might be ten times better than mother in order to seem half as good—except, of course, in the Twilight Zone ---------------------------------------------------------------- In Memory of: ----------------Ray Bradbury ----------------Wade Lassister ----------------Rod Serling ----------------Walt Whitman ---------------------------------------------------------------- currently at 234,897 and working really hard

Romantic Warrior - updated 27 June 2008 DATE: Mar 22, 2008, 02:49 AM / MOOD: accomplished
Last update 27 June 2008 Romantic Warrior ------------------------------------------ 評判 名誉 サービス ------------------------------------------ High above the encampment on a butte sat Tatanka Yotanka. In his hands were his Cannupa. He alternately smoked and prayed, sending a sacred voice skyward to Wakan Tanka.”. Tatanka Yotanka offered to sacrifice his own blood, then slashed his arms 100 times as a sign of sacrifice, for a vision that would guide the Lakota. And the vision came. ------------------------------------------ Pukhtun. This word means "backbone, hospitality, bravery and honour." "Which is enshrined in a code of honour known as Puktunwali, or the way of the Pathans". Tureh (bravery) Sabat (steadfastness) Imamdari (righteousness) 'Iisteqamat (persistence) Ghayrat (defense of property and honour); and Mamus (defence of one's women). Pashtunwalli (simply put for westerners) Melmastia (hospitality and protection to every guest) Nanawati (the right of a fugitive to seek refuge) Badal (the right of blood feuds or revenge) Revenge is taken only on male members of a family. Or as in the movie “The Professional” - “No Woman, No Children” ------------------------------------------ Now you will feel no rain, For each of you will be shelter to the other. Now you will feel no cold, For each of you will be warmth to the other. Now there is no more loneliness, For each of you will be companion to the other. Now you are two bodies, But there is one life before you. Go now to your dwelling place, To enter into the days of your togetherness. And may your days be good and long upon the earth. ~ Apache Wedding Prayer ------------------------------------------ Beyond the daylight there are Archtypes such as “The Knight of the Woeful Countenance’, also known as the‘Knight of the Broken Lance’ of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. ------------------------------------------ Now that it is once more popular: Ὦ ξεῖν', ἀγγέλλειν Λακεδαιμονίοις ὅτι τῇδε κείμεθα, τοῖς κείνων ῥήμασι πειθόμενοι. Ō ksein', angellein Lakedaimoniois hoti tēide keimetha tois keinōn rhēmasi peithomenoi. Or in other words ------------- later…. ------------------------------------------ Kahutia-te-rangi (Paikea): According to Māori tradition, Paikea is an ancestor of Ngāti Porou, a Māori tribe of the east coast of New Zealand's North Island. Legend has it that Kahutia-te-Rangi, ancestor of the people of Te Tai Rawhiti (the place washed by the eastern tide), travelled from Hawaiiki (land of the Ancients). He escaped certain death on the back of a whale when the canoe sank. Kahutia -te-rangi recited an incantation invoking the Southern Humpback whales (paikea in Māori) to carry him ashore. Kahutia-te-rangi was the sole survivor of Ruatapu's (his sister) evildoings and assumed the name Paikea as a memorial of the assistance he received from the whales. To commemorate: Paikea, and his descendants live at Whangara, on the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand, today. Hundreds of years later, the marae at Whangara still bears Kahutia/Paikea riding on the back of a whale as its tekoteko, on its Ridgepole. ------------------------------------------ ..

Equinox, Now as the Light Divides - updated 27 June 2008 DATE: Mar 8, 2008, 07:07 PM / MOOD: accomplished
Last update 27 June 2008 Now as the light divides (equinox) and passes through the Gateway to the Gods at Tiahuanaco we offer in memory of Höðr Skaði and Öndurgud: When the summer night has changed its warmer breezes to the icy cold of silent winter freezes, will you be there? When the flowers in the windows of the neighbors start to bow their frozen heads and to leave us, will I see you there? When the waters of the roaring ocean bring a chilling feeling and the beach is closing, are you near me? When the cloudy skies are blocking out the sun and suddenly your nose has begun to run, do you still hear me? Will you stand by me against the cold night, Or are you afraid of the ice? Afraid of the ice? Ice.
