Vicksburgs War Memorial Park

I had the chance to go to the War Memorial Park in Vicksburg Mississippi this last weekend. I had the unusual chance to see and feel some very strange and different things while there. I saw some shadowy mists in the trees while driving thru the park. I tried to photograph them but dont know if I did tho. The thing that struck me the most was the overwelming sense of sadness and death there. My partner, who doesnt believe, even commented on the sense of death there. If anyone has been there and felt this or seen things there please let me know. It has been several days since I was there and I cant shake this feeling that I got while there. I would appreciate any comments on this, thank you.
