Shed a tear upon the midnight sky So that I may see & also shed a tear... For Me Can you cry for me a river Cry me a river about the perilous plights that fill your heart with despair Letting the pains from broken promises create a waterfall from your eyes & the depression from destroyed passions create a streaming flood upon your face Bellowing your fears & moaning desperately upon a bleeding heart Would you fall from the pedestal of happiness & joy To wade along with me among the raindrops of distrust & sorrow Could you show me the emotions that my soul is incapable of knowing So I can walk beyond the gates of sadness, hopelessness, & rage Rip me from the tattered pages of oblivion & settle my leaking bucket of anguish upon the world Would you? Could you? Cry For Me?
